Eating out is less expensive in the island than in the capital and other cities in the Bahamas. A typical Bahamian meal or American Cuisine cost seven to ten dollars.

On weekends Kiwanis Park downtown Matthew Town comes alive where several fish fry shacks open serving jerk pork and chicken, chicken snacks and sandwiches. You can also purchase drinks from the after work bar. Cost of food averages $10 US.
