There are many secluded beaches on the island of Great Inagua, particularly on the eastern and southern shores. Some of which are protected by long barrier reefs. Two small beaches are located in the heart of Mathew Town and several superb beaches are at Northwest Point.

The Local Government Authority is currently developing a beach site at Northwest Point for use by passenger liners. Native stalls and cabanas were constructed and a dock to accommodate cruise ship tenders.
