Captain C. Stephen Fawkes, who was born in Great Inagua, is the Marine Superintendent at Morton Salt & K + S Company. He is one of the Directors of Bahamas Maritime Authority. His family can trace its roots at Great Inagua back more than one hundred and seventy five years. He has been involved in boating and treasure salvage operations with his father from his boyhood. Captain Fawkes has researched and dived on a number of historical wreck sites in Bahamian waters, particularly around the Inagua Islands. He is the islands former Chief Councillor (Mayor) and Historian, and has traveled widely, sailing and visiting many countries. He knows and loves all parts of the beautiful Inagua Islands.
